~When their mom needed some ‘me time’ on Mother’s Day last week, she retreated to her maiti, leaving me in charge of both kids at home. Determined not to let them miss their mom, I did everything I could to keep their spirits high. I took them to the children’s park of our neighborhood where they had a whale of time, until my son spotted his school friend who happens to be a girl. He started mingling with her, leaving his sister alone. Sensing her distress, I scooped her up into my arms, as I silently conveyed to her, “My dear princess, life can be challenging at times, but remember, I’ll always be here for you.”
